The Catholic Fellowship (formerly The Catholic Handicapped Children’s Fellowship) was founded in 1955
The Salford Diocesan Fellowship began in 1958.
Today there are District Groups in
Burnley, Middleton, Salford,
North Manchester and South Manchester.
There is considerable public ignorance
and apathy about disability.
Disabled people and their families often encounter prejudice, discrimination and negative attitudes.
We promote positive attitudes and support for parents and families as well as for those with disabilities.
We have an equal opportunity policy for all members and volunteers and we conform to the Diocesan Policies on the Protection of children and vulnerable adults.
All helpers are DBS checked
The members include people with physical, sensory and learning disabilities and their families and friends.
We respect the preferences of our members from other denominations and cultures
