The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

Members of the Burnley, Pendle and District Group of the Fellowship are pictured here outside Buckingham Palace when they attended a garden party hosted by the Queen in May.

From left to right are Mary Bibb, Group Chairman, Sylvia Flanagan, Seamus McLaughlin and Marie Evans, Secretary.

The award to the Fellowship has a status for groups equivalent to an MBE for an individual, and will be presented to Mary Bibb at County Hall, Preston, on Monday 16th July.

This unique UK national honour was created by Her Majesty to mark her Golden Jubilee in 2002 and to recognise the outstanding contributions made to local communities by groups of volunteers.
